Accessibility in Cloud Control Center

Overview

Elisity is committed to making Cloud Control Center (CCC) usable by everyone, including people who rely on keyboards, screen readers, magnification, or other assistive technologies. This article describes the accessibility features built into CCC and how to use them.

CCC is designed with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as its target standard.

Keyboard Navigation

You can use CCC with a keyboard alone, without a mouse. The following keys work throughout the interface:

Key Action
Tab / Shift + Tab Moves focus forward or backward between interactive elements such as links, buttons, and form fields. A visible focus indicator shows the element that currently has focus.
Enter / Space Activates the focused element: opens a link, presses a button, or toggles a checkbox.
Arrow keys Move between options within dropdown menus, submenus, and tab groups. When a menu is open, use Up and Down to move through its items and Enter to select one.
Esc Closes an open menu, dialog, or panel and returns focus to the element that opened it.

Quick Command

Quick Command lets you move around CCC from the keyboard. It jumps directly to pages, devices, and policies without using the navigation menu.

Step 1. Press Ctrl + K (Windows or Linux) or Cmd + K (macOS). Alternatively, click your profile avatar in the top bar, select Help & Tools, and then select Quick Command.

Step 2. Type to search by name, or use the arrow keys to move through recent activity and navigation shortcuts.

Step 3. Press Enter to go to the selected item.

Quick Command mirrors the navigation menu. It includes shortcuts to each area of the platform, such as Dashboards, IdentityGraph, Policy, Edge Management, and Traffic Analytics, and to individual Settings pages, so you can reach a specific settings page without expanding the Settings menu.

Screen Reader Support

CCC is tested with common screen readers, including VoiceOver (macOS) and NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) (Windows). Interface components use Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) roles, names, and states, so navigation menus, tables, dialogs, and form controls are announced correctly.

For the best experience, use the latest version of your screen reader with a current version of your browser.

Adjusting Table Text Size and Row Density

Device inventories, policy lists, Virtual Edge status, and many other CCC views are presented as tables. If the default table text is too small to read comfortably, or the rows feel too dense, adjust the table layout.

Step 1. Click your profile avatar in the top bar, and then select Profile Settings.

Step 2. Select the Layout & Appearance tab.

Step 3. Under Table Layout, choose your preferences:

  • Table Row Density: Select Comfortable for more space between rows, or Default for the standard density.
  • Table Text Size: Select Increased for larger table text, or Default for the standard size.

Step 4. Click Save Changes. To discard unsaved changes, click Reset.

These preferences are saved to your user account and apply to tables throughout CCC.

To magnify the entire interface, use your browser zoom (Ctrl + Plus on Windows or Linux, Cmd + Plus on macOS).

Using Accessibility Mode in the Policy Matrix

The Policy Matrix uses color to indicate policy actions such as Allow All, Deny All, and Custom. For users with a color vision deficiency, or anyone who prefers not to rely on color alone, the Policy Matrix offers Accessibility Mode.

When Accessibility Mode is on, each policy action is shown with a distinct fill pattern in addition to its color, so cells can be told apart without distinguishing between colors. Simulated policies remain identifiable by their dashed cell outline.

Step 1. In the navigation menu, go to Policy > Matrix. Make sure Matrix is selected in the Matrix / Table toggle at the top of the page.

Step 2. In the column of floating buttons on the right side of the matrix, click View mode.

Step 3. Select Accessibility Mode. A check mark shows that it is on. To turn it off, select it again.

The same menu switches between Outlined Cells and Filled Cells, so you can choose the cell style that works best for you. The Policy Matrix is fully usable in its default state; Accessibility Mode is an optional setting for clearer differentiation of policy actions.

Resizing the Policy Matrix

To make the matrix larger or smaller, click Zoom Options in the same column of floating buttons, and then select Zoom In, Zoom Out, or Full Screen. The zoom level is kept as you move between tabs on the Policies page.

Reporting Accessibility Issues

To report an accessibility issue, submit a request through the Elisity Support Portal as described in Submitting and Tracking Support Tickets. Include the page or feature affected, the assistive technology and browser you were using, and a description of the issue.
