15.5 Release Notes

New Cloud Control Center updates for 15.5

This release includes various bug fixes, updates to the UI and several new and improved features detailed below.

Arista 720XP Switch Support (Beta)

Cloud Control Center now supports Arista 720XP switches to be onboarded as a Virtual Edge Node (VEN) for policy enforcement. This initial release is beta only and some limitations apply. For detailed information, please refer to the Onboarding Arista 720XP as a Virtual Edge Node article.

Cisco Catalyst 9600 Switch Support (Beta)

Cloud Control Center now supports Cisco Catalyst 9600 switches to be onboarded as a Virtual Edge Node (VEN) for policy enforcement. This initial release is beta only and some limitations apply. For detailed information, please refer to the Onboarding Catalyst 9000/3850/3650 as a Virtual Edge Node article.

New and Improved VE/VEN Onboarding Workflow

In 15.5 we have completely overhauled the VE/VEN onboarding workflow to make it more intuitive, easier to navigate and visualize your deployments. This also includes a new Bulk Onboarding workflow and the addition of an Activity Panel that provides detailed information about every step of the onboarding process. For detailed information, please refer to the Onboarding Catalyst 9000/3850/3650 as a Virtual Edge Node article.

Site Label Assignment to VEN

Site Label's can now be assigned to Virtual Edge Nodes (VEN) for greater flexibility and control of policy distribution and overall visibility/filtering of analytics on a per site label basis. For detailed information, please refer to the Managing Virtual Edges and Virtual Edge Nodes article.

Site Label Filtering

You can now filter devices by site label and search through all available filters. For detailed information, please refer to the Policy Sets and Site Labels article.

CDP/LLDP Telemetry Display in IdentityGraph

Elisity's Virtual Edge now collects CDP/LLDP information for all switches onboarded as a VEN and presents this data in IdentityGraph when applicable. For detailed information, please refer to the IdentityGraph™ article.

Support for Multiple Device Labels

Cloud Control Center now supports multiple user defined device labels per device. This new functionality can be leveraged to improve reporting and analytics as well as policy group match criteria definition. For detailed information, please refer to the Device Labels article.

Introduction of Dynamic Device Suppression

The Elisity Identity Engine continuously monitors attachment and identity events from devices on the network. It is equipped to dynamically mitigate the impact of unstable devices that fluctuate, potentially triggering a flood of events. This functionality safeguards the Cloud Control Center by preventing excessive, unnecessary computations. For detailed information, please refer to the Elisity Cloud Control Center Configuration Guide article.

User Definable Device Type and Operating System

When setting up a policy group, you can now directly add new values for Device Type and Operating System. This capability is useful for preparing your network to seamlessly integrate and manage new devices that are not currently present or visible. For detailed information, please refer to the Policy Groups article.

Retroactive Enrichment of Devices

Elisity Cloud Control Center will now automatically enrich all previously known devices after a new connector is configured removing the requirement for a detach and attach event to occur in order to enrich the device identity attributes.

Automatic Port Configuration

Elisity Cloud Control Center now automates the switch port configuration process during VEN onboarding. It enables selective data collection and minimizes unnecessary discovery, focusing security efforts and analytics on relevant endpoints. For detailed information, please refer to the Onboarding Catalyst 9000/3850/3650 as a Virtual Edge Node article.

User Page Moved to Settings > Active Directory

In our recent platform enhancements, we've optimized the navigation structure to further streamline the user experience. Recognizing the importance and frequent use of device-related data, including user to device associations, we've made this information more prominent in our interface. Concurrently, to declutter the main menu and reflect usage patterns, the Users page has been thoughtfully relocated to Settings > Active Directory. This adjustment aligns with our commitment to providing a more intuitive and efficient environment for administrators, focusing on the most utilized features while maintaining easy access to all necessary user management tools.
